A 66,000-school database no competitor can buy
GearLocker sells equipment-management software to US school athletic departments. Athletic directors and coaches don't exist in Apollo or ZoomInfo, so we scraped and enriched every school in America into a proprietary dataset, then worked it state by state across email, LinkedIn and direct mail.
You can't buy a list that doesn’t exist.
No commercial database covers school athletic departments with any depth. The contacts live on 66,000 individual school websites, in different formats, behind different systems. For most vendors that makes the market unreachable at scale, which is exactly why it was worth solving.
The second problem was timing: school buying follows budget cycles and sports seasons. An always-on approach had to be paired with state-by-state sequencing and seasonal re-engagement, hitting buyers when next year's equipment budgets open.
Build the data asset, then never stop working it.
Three plays did the work: build a database no one else has, work it state by state on an evergreen loop, and coordinate three channels into one continuous thread.
Built the data asset no vendor sells.
Every US school scraped and AI-enriched into GearLocker's own dataset, then scored before a single email went out.
Worked it state by state, and never stopped.
Evergreen campaigns roll across states one at a time. Each launches, learns and feeds the next, then recycles on the budget calendar.
Ran three channels as one thread.
Cold email, LinkedIn and direct mail coordinated so no buyer gets double-touched, with every reply flowing into GearLocker's own CRM.
One database, three channels.
The same finished lead, reached the way it responds best. Three coordinated channels, never stepping on each other.
Evergreen volume that keeps climbing.
Monthly sending volume and interested replies from the Email Bison workspace, December 2025 through July 2026. March and April both delivered 44+ interested athletic departments as the state campaigns compounded.
From scraper to staffed pipeline.
Build the asset
The full school TAM scraped, enriched and scored while infrastructure warmed. The database is GearLocker's property, a moat no competitor can order from a vendor.

Demo flow grew to the point GearLocker hired a dedicated team member to manage replies and book demos with the co-founders. Re-scraping and enrichment keep the database current.
